  1. This experience was once in a lifetime! The village is was incredibly authentic and I got to drink the best tea I have ever had. The village was deep in Ha Giang and we got to stay with the Red Yao tribe. On the way there you are surrounded by towering rice terraces and immaculate waterfalls. The meal they prepared was absolutely divine, and the hospitality we experienced was unforgettable. We got to go to the ancient tea trees and pick Shan (mountain) tea then drink it. The taste was amazing as it was so natural and organic tasting. All in all, if you want to escape tourist crowds and experience a different culture this is the place to come.

  7. Located 17km south of Ha Giang City, Lung Tao is a village of Red Yao people whose lives revolve around picking tea. Their wooden stilt homes are surrounded by tea trees, which some lucky visitors are able to help pick! The tea is the freshest I’ve ever tasted...I’m told it’s a form of green tea and contains many medicinal benefits. The taste was clean, smooth and fresh- a subtle deliciousness!

  8. During the time that we spent in Ha Giang, we were lucky enough to be brought up the mountain through Cao Bo village by the proprietor of the Baiyue Tea House. Once up in the village, we hiked through fields and streams and arrived at a beautiful, private waterfall. After taking a swim, we continued our hike until we emerged among the middle of the terraced rice paddies along the edge of the mountain. Gazing down into the valley below was breathtaking, and the exact type of experience we were looking for in Northern Vietnam!

  9. Nestled against the Chinese border the northern province of Ha Giang is a spectacular mountainous landscape. I was fortunate enough to be invited to one of the Red Dao (a local ethnic minority tribe) villages to learn about the history of the wild tea trees in the area. I was stunned to discover that some of the trees that are still harvested today are as old as 1000 years. The people were so lovely and inviting and even took me for a swim at the local waterfall. From the fascinating tea culture to the magnificent views, the whole experience was simply incredible.

  10. This was a great trip, I really enjoyed the bike ride into the mountains, no other travelers in sight. The village was beautiful with a great view of the valley. They have a fish pond as a front yard! Then we took a hike up through the woods to the old tea trees higher up the mountain, such a good hike! We learned to pick tea, and mane it into tea when we got back to the house. The dinner was excellent, and there is a great waterfall where we could swim. I really enjoyed it all.

  11. The ride up the mountain to Lúng Táo may be the most breath taking motorbike ride I've ever been on, worldwide. Stopping along the way for one kind interactions with local villagers did not disappoint. Rolling through the terraced rice fields learning first hand the process of making rice paper and refining harvested cinnamon to a couple. Upon arrival we were escorted through a "maze of green" and found ourselves on top of the world nestled in a Shan tea tree. After learning how to pick the leaves and eating a couple (hehe) we got we able to sip some of the freshest tea in the world. All in all, this whole experience was unique and incredible. A must do in the Ha Giang district.

  13. Mr. Shan Trieu and his team are the most welcoming and amazing hosts I've had on my travels. If you stay here there is lots of downtime, but that can be put to good use by renting a motorbike and exploring some of the local villages, or taking a day trip to one of the waterfalls the region is famous for. The tea picking is very cool. We had a great time meeting Hmong villagers, one of whom invited us into his home for an impromptu tea ceremony.

In fact it is not just a Village featuring a breathtaking and absolutely mesmerizing scenery but an experience in itself.
