Beyond the Ha Giang Loop

We have created a unique slow-travel program for travellers who want to go beyond the classic Ha Giang Loop—an experience that allows you to slow down, immerse yourself, and truly feel the essence of the Dong Van Karst Plateau.
Our program was started every Sunday morning

Instead of racing from point to point, our program enables travellers to:

Stay longer, discover deeper: Longer stays at selected villages and geological sites let you explore the landscape and its history at your own pace.

Authentic local experiences: Meet artisans, join family meals, attend local events, and learn traditional crafts and agricultural practices.

Guided geological and cultural walks: Small-group, low-impact walks led by local guides and geologists bring the geopark’s 400+ million–year story to life.

Sustainable choices: We prioritize homestays, family-run eateries, and low-emission transport to support local livelihoods and reduce tourism’s footprint.

Ha Giang is renowned for its breathtaking landscapes, ancient cultural heritage, and the impressive rugged beauty of the Dong Van Karst Plateau. In recent years, tourism has increased rapidly, earning the province recognition as Asia’s Leading Cultural Destination.

But behind those postcard-perfect views lies a reality that many visitors never see.
Large tour companies have entered the region, prioritizing profit over preservation. Mass-market group tours—often with 20, 30, even 50 people on motorbikes of Easyriders (local young boys with lack of education, their indigenous knowledge, and driving at a speed, called “reckless”) — rush through Ha Giang’s winding roads. They stop briefly at crowded “must-see” viewpoints, snap photos, and leave. These visitors pass through like a storm: loud, fast, and gone in an instant—leaving little positive impact behind.

Is the Ha Giang Loop A Tsunami Washing Everything Away?
- Not quite!

The Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark remains a vast cultural and geological treasure—a place shaped over 400 million years, home to over 20 ethnic groups whose traditions have survived since ancient times. This richness cannot be erased by fast tourism, but it can easily be overlooked.
A Living Geological Museum Waiting to Be Discovered: The Dong Van Karst Plateau is not just a destination; it is a living geological museum. By choosing slow tourism, travellers have the chance to get lost in its beauty, understand its stories, and contribute to its preservation.

Share Values, Not Vulnerable Places: We encourage travelers to share stories, lessons, and cultural understanding rather than promoting fragile locations that may be negatively affected by uncontrolled visitation.

Educate Deeply, Reveal Selectively: Meaningful learning does not require revealing every place. We prioritize cultural understanding, ecological awareness, and respectful engagement over sightseeing checklists.

Protect Through Thoughtful Storytelling: By carefully selecting what is shared publicly, we help safeguard the cultural integrity, ecological resilience, and community wellbeing of the Dong Van Karst Plateau for future generations.
